Carnegie
Painted V
In the honor and memory
of Jean Salvato
Hosted for the fifth year in a row by the 3rd Street Gallery, "Carnegie Painted" celebrates images and impressions of the town of Carnegie, PA (at left, East Main Street, Chuck Percherke, last year's best of show winner).
Jean was the center of our arts community, encouraging artists to produce, and encouraging arts organizations to find a home in Carnegie. This show was originated by her and she was always glad to have her gallery host this celebration of our town. We hope to honor her memory with a spectacular show this year.

Whether
just for practice or in order to create a finished piece of artwork,
artists often render what they see, drawing and painting "en
plein air" or simply rendering images that are familiar to
them in their studio. A "painted" show brings together
all the images of one locale, be it a region, city, small town,
neighborhood or single street.
In conjunction with Carnegie's annual Arts & Heritage Festival, "Carnegie Painted" gives visitors to the festival and to the town in general a view of the town they might not have seen as artists exhibit their impressions and renderings of Carnegie's sights and scenes.
Many
thanks to Fidelity Bank for underwriting our 2005 show!
