September 17: Commemoration
and Renewal
An anniversary must be noted,
however tragic, and as Carnegie reaches the first year of recovery
from the flood of September 17, 2004, members from all parts of
our community want to mark the day with an event of some sort.
Below is a listing of events for that day: events are subject
to change as plans continue, and we urge you to check this site
or your local media for details as September 17 approaches.

Valley Long Term Recovery Team, "Carnegie Remembers
In
commemoration of the September 17, 2004 flooding and a celebration
of Renewal" will include a non-denominational worship
service and complimentary lunch provided by All Saints in conjunction
with Talotta's Restaurant.

The Lower Chartiers Watershed
Council has compiled a primer of information on the importance
of stormwater management on both a personal and municipal level
at home and in business, including specific information about
areas of the Lower Chartiers Watershed. For more information on

3:00 p.m. Performance, "Carnegie's
New Beginning", Pittsburgh Music Academy
Members of the Pittsburgh Symphony
Orchestra and teachers and students of the Pittsburgh Music Academy
will present "New Hope: Carnegie's New Beginning",
a program of meditative classical music in tribute to both their
own personal recovery and that of the town around them.

5:00 p.m. Dedication, Carnegie Mural
After we've spent a couple of
months watching it develop, our mural will be dedicated to our
town with representatives of the Sprout Public Art Fund, Carnegie
Renaissance, Carnegie Rotary Club and Carnegie Borough.
